Cortex Console
Pick a profile to carry on from where it left off, or start a new one. Scores, levels and streaks are kept separately for each.
One session, nothing saved. Scores and levels are thrown away the moment you leave — handy for a quick try, or for letting someone else play without touching your profile.
Moving to a new phone, or on a browser that will not save? Copy your backup code and paste it back in later to bring every profile with you.
Profiles live in this browser only — there is no sign-in, no password and nothing sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data clears them all.
Short games, a minute or two each. Press Play and it picks one for you and explains what to do — or choose your own from the list below.
Each dot is one test from either battery. The line is a three-session rolling average.
Two batteries, one colour system. A hue always means the same underlying
construct on both sides. Figure Rotation in the reasoning battery wears the same colour
as Mental Rotation in the cognitive console, because they measure the same thing in two
different ways — one as an untimed item, one as a speeded decision. The palette is
validated at eight hues for colour-vision separation, which is why constructs share
colours rather than every subtest inventing its own.
What this is not. Practising these formats reliably makes you better at
them, and familiarity with the item types is genuinely worth having before you
sit any test that uses them. Whether it transfers to general intelligence is a different
question, and the evidence is weak and contested. Neither index here is an IQ estimate,
and no honest app can give you one from a browser tab. Sleep, caffeine and time of day
move both numbers more than a week of practice does.
Each dot is one cognitive test. The line is a three-session rolling average.
Test or drill. Every subtest opens two ways. A test is a fixed, scored measurement — it moves the radar above and adds a dot to the overview chart. A drill is the training version: it resumes at the level you last reached, holds you at roughly two-thirds correct by climbing after three right and dropping after two wrong, corrects you after every trial, and never touches your score. Drill to improve, test to find out whether you did.
The full battery runs 24 items — six from each subtest, shuffled together, with no feedback until the end. That is deliberately unlike practising a subtest on its own: a real test mixes item types and tells you nothing while you work. Take the subtests individually to learn the formats and read the explanations; sit the battery when you want a clean composite.
